Are they a language? A hidden code? Messages from outside of time?

No.

They are forms that come from a flow state. The line’s path follows implicit rules for width and spacing ratios, repetition of elements, and connecting to existing patterns, but most of the time they are meaningless.*

*as long as you don’t do anything about it. But if you wonder(ed): doesn’t this look like …? or could it mean …? , then you engaged in meaning making!

I want to encourage people to find their own meaning in the patterns they encounter in my art and life, and try to make sense of it instead of denying it; or adopting an authority position without critical questioning. Meaning making is an ongoing, effortful process, but practice makes better.
